Abstract :
There are various sources of renewable energy, which have a negative effect on the power grid. Technology that can solve the problem is essential and the answer is the energy storage system. The ESS (Energy Storage System) can provide a solution that intends to improve the output power quality from a renewable energy source like wind power. This paper presents the development, design, manufacture and performance of the ESS for grid stability improvement, application to wind-turbine generator. The ESS consists of PCS (Power Condition -ing System), Energy Storage System (Li-ion Battery), EMS (Energy Management System). This paper provides concepts of Energy Storage System for Smart-Renewable, ESS simulation model and wind power smoothing simulation model. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for each operation mode control and show the experimental results. Furthermore, the demonstration results of the ESS are presented the validity of the proposed the ESS.
