Abstract :
This paper addresses a research work that comes at the crossroad of two important issues learning and energy-saving. Learning has matured from a tethered delivery strategy offered through mail into a delivery strategy mediated by electronic devices (E-Learning), and now we witness a robust mobile learning strategy delivered wirelessly to students in a smart classroom using mobile tablets. In this work, we propose an M-learning approach that rests on the mobile tablet representing a crucial tool to deliver multimedia knowledge in a smart environment. Also, this mobile computing device permits to any user to access to the global energy consumption in the smart classroom along with its individual energy consumption in any smart space of the college, by interacting to its wireless sensor network (WSN) connected to the electric appliances like the light switches, the electric outlets and the smart boards. This leads us to introduce the concept of M-learning with energy-saving awareness. And in order to achieve this aim, we investigate the integration of energy efficient wireless communication standards into the mobile tablet along with educating the different actors of the smart college (more specifically the students) about the energy-saving awareness.
