  • Abstract
Multiple hypothesis tracking (MHT) based on multiple scanning periods is theoretically the best method to solve data association problem. With the increasing target number and noise, the time spent on data association process will grow exponentially. To overcome the problem, a new modified MHT algorithm, which minimizes meaningless calculation, is proposed in this paper. The modified algorithm can make the data association process run faster by using a new method of establishing the data association tree. The modified algorithm is applied to range and Doppler measurement, and a comparison of the modified algorithm with traditional algorithm by computer simulation shows that the modified algorithm can decrease the runtime effectively when they have the same tracking performance.
