Abstract
Natural and human influenced environments are subject of various risk related phenomena that require adequate actions, to be taken in proper time. The paper presents the particular solution elaborated for decision support in pollution events of water resources. The Cyberinfrastructure for Water Resource Management (CIWRM), designed as a cloud-based system, includes a distributed data acquisition network, which enables data acquisition with variable sampling frequency, monitoring, visualization and interactivity services, as well as a risk management service that supports evaluation of phenomena and adequate actions involving various stakeholders.
