  • Abstract
    A complete model of a power line communication (PLC) system operating on a low-voltage (LV) network is developed in this paper. The power line communication channel is sorted into four types, the one tap with one branch (OTOB), one tap with multi-branch(OTMB), multi-tap with one branch each (MTOB) and multi-tap with multi-branch(MTMB). The amplitude response and phase response are simulated and analyzed when the type of branch structure and the length of branch vary. It is showing that the different topologies and lengths of branch have a great impact on transfer characteristics. Especially, the number and position of notch and crest in amplitude and phase response are affected distinctly by the above-mentioned factors. This enables us to calculate and utilize the accurate channel characteristics of different channel branch structures in indoor LV power line network.
