  • Abstract
Creating presentation documents (P-documents) is important as research activity, which involves composing semantic structure representing what to present and how to sequence the contents presented. However, novice researchers have little skills in composing semantic structure to create P-documents. This paper addresses the issue of how to develop skills in composing semantic structure of P-documents for novice researchers in a research group. Our approach to this issue is to provide the novices with presentation schema (P-schema) that is a typical semantic structure for the research group. In addition, they are expected to compose the semantic structure with P-schema not only in the context of creating P-documents but also in the context of learning P-documents the expert/intermediate researchers have created. In this paper, we also report a case study whose purpose was to investigate whether skill in composing semantic structure could be transferred from learning to creating P-documents.
