Abstract :
Scholars both in domestic and overseas began to use Markov chain to design driving cycles for the past few years, but none of them gave the validity proof of Markov property of driving cycle. In this study, Vehicle Dynamics model, Car-Following model and Singular Perturbation theory are all used to verify the Markov property of driving cycle. Then we used driving data of FTP (Federal Test Procedure) to analyze the correlation of speed between different time step. Theory of Ergodicity is applied to reveal the relationship between VA Probability and state transition matrix. That is the VA Probability is the stationary distribution of transition probability matrix. The essential characteristic of driving cycle is described through this research, which offered the theoretical basis to some extent for designing driving cycle and ECO driving (Economical and Ecological).
