  • Abstract
    When a mobile node moves to a congested new BS with a general bottleneck link, a new buffer management scheme is proposed to improve utilization of the radio link. The proposed buffer management scheme determines the disposal of buffered packets depending on the degree of congestion. The proposed buffer management approach with considering the handover (Handover-based RED: HRED) provides a new disposal standard for the handover packets and improves throughput of existing flows. The simulation results confirm that the proposed buffer scheme can improve the link utilization performance about crowded wireless link.
