Abstract :
The resource allocation problem for scalable video coding (SVC) multicast in wireless relay networks is challenging because there are connectivity constraint among relay stations and user inclusion constraint among video layers. In the present paper, we decouple the constraints and divide the resource allocation problem into two separated sub-problems, namely, choosing the set of recipient groups and assigning proper recipient group to each video layer. We herein propose BF-DP, a two-phase algorithm with exponential time complexity that can provide optimal results. We also propose H-DP, a heuristic algorithm that can dramatically reduce the running time while providing a good approximation to algorithm BF-DP. Simulations are conducted to evaluate the proposed algorithms.
