  • Abstract
The appearance of vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) improved traffic safety and prevent congestion. For the sake of efficient delivery of emergent-events and transmission of user data, a cluster-based vehicle management protocol for VANETs with density-based power control and channel assignment mechanisms is proposed in this paper. It is beneficial to prevent high-overlapping of clusters to increase spatial reuse, and efficiently allocate channel resources for better channel utilization. Simulation results show that the network throughput increased significantly and the delivery of user data will be speed-up in comparison with flat VANET.
