  • Abstract
E-Infrastructures are the key enabler of high end Research and Scientific discoveries. E- infrastructure comprises of computational, storage and network resources, high performance computing (HPC) software tools, libraries and complex parallel environments. Cloud computing is a model that provides on-demand easy access to high end computes, storage and network infrastructures and complex parallel environments. Scientific applications need the availability of a massive computational power for performing large scale experiments and huge storage capacity of storage terabyte or petabyte range of outputs. Several high performance computing facilities are being offered to researchers and scientists, however users need to undergo a time taking process to get access to such resources. CSC, developed by Centre for development of advanced computing provides an easy and quick access to the HPC resources using the self service portal. It provides the on demand access to virtual machine (VM) and virtual clusters (VC- collection of VMs). The authors in this paper illustrate in detail about the access mechanisms used to access the E- infrastructures (Compute & Storage) on scientific cloud. The authors also discuss about how public access has been provided to the HPC resources on a cloud.
