  • Abstract
A fractal Cantor dielectric multilayer is a stack of two different dielectric layers whose thicknesses are chosen according to the Cantor procedure. At a given frequency, by properly designing the multilayer it is possible to obtain in some regions of the resonator a field intensity significantly greater than that of the incident one. Such a phenomenon, called field localization, can be used to design waveguide applicator for the microwave heating of low and moderate loss dielectrics.
