  • Abstract
Two designs of electrically-short carbon-nanotube-based antennas are presented. They rely on the two main types of long aligned carbon nanotubes fabricated with state-of-the-art technology - horizontal and vertical arrays produced by chemical vapor deposition. Their performance is assessed by full-wave simulation using HFSS EM software. First, the modeling technique is presented. Then, the designs are described and compared to reported fabrication achievements and to our experimental progress. The antennas are finally studied in transmission and conclusions are drawn on their applicability.
