Abstract
This paper analytically studies the performance of the most popular transport layer protocol, transmission control protocol (TCP), over VLC local networks employing automatic repeat-request/selective repeat (ARQ-SR) protocol in the link layer. We analytically derive the TCP throughput considering reflection, ISI and other VLC link conditions. We also confirm the improvement of TCP performance by selecting appropriate ARQ-SR parameters.
