  • Abstract
This paper describes a new inductor-less three-phase to single-phase boost converter. The proposed circuit consists of two three-phase bridge converters and a multi-pole three-phase permanent-magnet synchronous generator having open-end stator windings. Each end of the generator windings are connected between the ac terminals of the bridge converters. The negative terminals of the two bridge converters are connected each other, while the positive terminals are connected to the single-phase load. Each three-phase bridge converter independently controls its dc capacitor voltage to supply an ac voltage to the load. This paper presents the basic of the operating principle and control method, and demonstrates the control performance by using a 2-kW prototype of the proposed inductor-less power converter.
