  • Abstract
CdSe tetrapods are investigated for biological applications. Organic dispersible tetrapods are encapsulated in PDMS microbeads for future barcoding applications. The novelty of the work lies in making the tetrapods aqueous dispersible and optimizing it using a strong organic base. The aqueous dispersible tetrapods are now been used for cell imaging and their uptake kinetics, and conjugation with antibodies for immunoassays. For biosensing applications, aqueous dispersible tetrapods are immobilized on alginate microspheres and are tested for coding applications, biosensing of urea and pH sensing.
