Abstract
The FDTD method is implemented to characterize the transient responses of C-band microstrip antennas fed by microstrip and coaxial line under the impact of the UWB EMP, but from directions. Numerical results are presented to show the transient coupled voltages on the probes´ location of the antennas are sensitive to the incident directions of the UWB EMP. The microstrip antennas fed by microstrip has the larger transient coupled voltages than the microstrip antennas fed by coaxial line, thus is easier to be attacked by comparing the transient coupled voltages of two antennas under the same UWB EMP.
