  • Abstract
    Performance of embedded radiofrequency (RF) receivers used in Hand Free Systems (HFS) and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) is unavoidably modified from that awaited under ideal conditions. The main difficulty in designing and integrating automotive RF antennas is that the final specification is described according to vehicle mounting position. Therefore, it becomes mandatory to apply numerical techniques covering entire project phases in order to predict in vehicle mounted antenna performance operating in ISM (industrial, scientific and medical) frequency band. This paper shows how 3D simulation can be applied to predict the link budget of RF antennas in their operational environment.
