Abstract :
We propose to analyze the impact of vehicular scattering on both individual users and global throughput of a LTE heterogeneous network. The studied network consists of a real world hexagonal configuration with 7 three-sector Macro Base Stations and 15 added Small Cells. Propagation modeling is site-specific and the main contribution of this paper relies on the introduction of channel dynamics due to vehicular traffic flow crossing radio links. Connection losses and throughput degradations due to vehicle passing are observed for individual users. The global throughput gain achieved by offloading Macro Base Stations is reduced but remains attractive.
