Abstract
Tracker systems are a keystone in the surveillance processing chain of air navigation service providers (ANSPs). The quality and performance of tracking systems predetermines the accuracy of trajectory estimations in flightplan systems, the false alarm rate of safety net features like short term conflict alert (STCA), and the accuracy of the traffic situation display at the controllers´ working positions (CWPs). Thus their quality directly determines capacity and safety in the air traffic management (ATM) systems of ANSPs, which in consequence are highly interested in monitoring and maintaining these systems at an optimal level.
