Abstract
Digital Signature of Network Segment using Flow Analysis (DSNSF) can be classified as a traffic characterization of a network segment. This paper presents a model for signature creation using a clustering approach, enabling recognition patterns and characteristics in data sets. To avoid the problem of local optimal solutions, an improved Ant Colony Optimization metaheuristic is used, whose main features include low computational complexity and reliance on small number of input parameters.
