  • Abstract
    In this paper we propose a new framework for the in- and out-hospital homogeneous management of childhood asthma through a combination of official clinical guidelines for asthma management. The main indicator used for the assessment of the child´s asthma is the measurement and interpretation of Fraction of exhaled Nitric Oxide (FeNO). As a whole, the decision making algorithms that we created are organized as a Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS), termed RespDoc. The performance of the RespDoc has been evaluated by means of data acquired from real world medical cases.
