Abstract
The aim of this work is to present a Static Synchronous Compensator laboratory prototype for node voltage regulation at the connection point under load changes. Proportional Integral control systems are used to regulate the capacitor voltage of the compensator and the voltage magnitude at the connection point. Also, a synchronization algorithm is used to calculate a reference signal for the injected voltage. Additionally, a phase shifting matrix in the αβ0 reference frame is used to instantaneously shift the sine carriers for a Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation scheme. Tests that show the regulation of the voltage magnitude at the connection point are conducted using an electric system that has an RL load combined with an induction motor.
