Abstract :
A ray tracing model of a solar tower heliostat field was developed using SolTrace software. The optical performance of the Heliostat field was evaluated as function of the total number of heliostats, the time and date, and the aiming errors. The calibration of the simulated data was made by taking into account the results of measured experimental tests. The simulated solar radiation flux and temperature distributions in the receiver are also presented.
