Abstract
In this paper, an UWB to seven sub-bands frequency reconfigurable antenna is presented. It consist of an antipodal Vivaldi antenna to which a single strip line at the bottom of one face and a pair of strip lines at the top of two faces are integrated. By varying the length of these lines, seven different narrow frequency bands can be obtained and the antenna can be switched between them by means of switches. To operate it in an UWB mode, the strip lines must be disrupted by mans of switches at the vicinity of the coplanar wings of the Vivaldi. The proposed antenna can be a good candidate for compact cognitive radios. To present the work, simulated and measured results will be presented and discussed.
