  • Abstract
We developed Nd3+, Cr3+-codoped laser crystals for solar-pumped lasers. We succeeded markedly in increasing the absorption in the UV-VIS region using Nd, Cr:YVO4 and Nd, Cr:CaYAlO4 crystals. The absorption cross section of the Nd, Cr:CaYAlO4 crystal approximately 400 nm was more than 70 times that of Nd, Cr:YAG crystals.
