Abstract
There is demand for accurate planning in order to evaluate the quality of the proposed design as well as to minimize the financial and technical resources required. This requires detailed knowledge about the venue where network should be deployed. It is recommended in the paper to use the building information model of the venue as a basis for the radio-planning in order to provide savings in time and resource for both the radio-planners and the mobile operators. In the provided example, a 3-dimensional building model was produced. UMTS and LTE analysis have been performed to stress the benefits of utilizing the building information model and selected results of LTE analysis have been presented.
