Abstract :
In this paper, the application of a phase locked loop principle in a control algorithm is described. This algorithm was designed for driving a MCU equipped slot car in the Freescale Race Challenge competition in 2010. The robotic car had to pass ten laps on an unknown random track in the shortest possible time, but no information about the track shape and length was given in advance.
