Abstract
In this paper, and a failure-safe system capable of operating in safety side even upon occurrence of failures was designed where IoT-based sensor nodes allowed fault tolerance based on hardware redundancy. The fault tolerance system masked faults with the application of TMR system and enabled fail-safe control by using a comparator (Exclusive-OR) for fault detection and self-diagnostics. The fault-tolerant sensor nodes presented in the article were installed outdoors where disasters/calamities could occur and could execute the specified algorithms even upon occurrence of faults allowing the use in areas with poor environments.
