  • Abstract
Pulse transit time (PTT) has shown a high correlation with blood pressure and have been reported to be used for blood pressure estimation. However, PTT based blood pressure estimation is not accurate yet, especially for diastolic blood pressure estimation. In this study, we introduced a new compensation method for PTT based blood pressure estimation. A liner model for PTT based blood pressure estimation model was employed. Variation of PTT and PTT variability were introduced in the model as compensation. Experiment was conducted on 33 healthy subjects aged from 23 to 25. The proposed estimation model was applied on the experiment data and the estimated blood pressure values were compared to those measures by a standard oscillometry. The mean absolute errors of the proposed method in estimating systolic and diastolic pressures were 2.0333mmHg and 3.1mmHg, respectively. The results indicated that the proposed linear model with compensation could provide accurate blood pressure estimation.
