  • Abstract
    This paper presents the development of an active RFID system for machine condition monitoring. The active RFID system consists of an active RFID tag and RFID reader. The active RFID tag is designed by integrating a strain sensor module, programmable system-on-chip microcontroller, and WSN RF transceiver module. The RFID reader is developed with a single WSN transceiver module. The strain values are transmitted by an active RFID tag to the RFID reader that is connected to a computer for data monitoring, display, and storage. The functionality of the strain sensor integrated with the active RFID system with WSN is tested in real environment.
