Abstract
In the present paper, a wideband circularly polarized microstrip antenna is designed for application in wireless local area network(WLAN). The proposed antenna is L-strip fed proximity coupled circular microstrip antenna where the radiating patch is loaded by a cross slot of unequal arms length. The circular polarization is achieved by cutting an asymmetric slot cut on circular radiating patch to produce orthogonal modes. A small circular patch on RT-Duroid 5880 with εr = 2.2 can provide a -10dB return loss bandwidth of 51.8% and axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 8.43% (AR<;3dB). The proposed antenna has wide bandwidth in the frequency band of WLAN.
