Abstract
Under some experimental conditions, charges may transport like an isolated packet with a repetitive but transient character in polyethylene. We focus here on the so-called "slow charge packets" observed at a field of 100 kV/mm with an apparent mobility in the range 10-14-10-16 m2V-1s-1. Many factors impact packets formation or the manner they migrate within the material. Depending on experimental conditions or materials used, charge packets observed experimentally have different behaviour during their migration within the bulk. For certain experimental conditions charge packets move through the bulk by keeping their shape but tend to be dismantled before reaching the opposite electrode in other conditions. In this study, we investigate the influence of the mobility expression used in transport model on this specific feature of charge packets propagation.
