Abstract
Due to uncertainties of weather conditions and restoration resources, maintenance quality of component in power system is also stochastic. In order to study how maintenance quality stochastic nature influences system reliability, a hazard rate relating function (HRRF) is proposed to describe the reliability relation of component before and after maintenance. The maintenance quality assumed to be uniformly distributed is described by HRRF parameters. An extended sequential Monte Carlo simulation method is also proposed to investigate the effect of the model on the system expected energy not supplied (EENS). The case studies are carried out on IEEE RTS79, and demonstrates that EENS is very sensitive to the maintenance quality when the component aging is prominent. It is also found that lognormal distribution is better to represent the energy not supplied distribution than Weibull distribution on the tested system.
