Abstract :
Reliability of a navigation system is one of great importance for navigation purposes. Therefore, an integrity monitoring system is an inseparable part of aviation navigation system. Failures or faults due to malfunctions in the systems should be detected and repaired to keep the integrity of the system intact. Through analyzing the properties of GPS navigation signals observation gross error and receiver noise distribution feature, the investigation presents a kind of wavelet transform approach for GPS receiver fault detection. The detailed description of wavelet transform for fault detection scheme is given. Wavelet technology is used to analyze pseudo-range data. It can find fault point in a short time when the pseudo-range increases between the receiver and satellite position. Based on the real GPS raw data from the GPS receiver, the proposed fault detection approach is simulated and tested. The navigation positioning accuracy, faulty to tolerance and reliability capability is guaranteed. The simulation results validate the feasibility and validity of wavelet transform approach to fault detection for GPS receiver.
