Abstract :
The paper is concerned with a hazmat vehicle routing problem. Two objectives are considered: (1) minimizing the total travel cost and (2) minimizing the total travel risk. A path-based risk estimation method is proposed to make the risk analysis more reasonable. A numerical study is carried out and the non-dominated solution is calculated by the modified ant colony optimization. Results show that our model can significantly reduce the travel risk, and the algorithm we proposed is effective in finding the non-dominated solutions.
