Abstract
We propose a process for creating SWRL enabled OWL ontologies which support the delivery of personalized services for residents in Self-Care Homes (SeCH). The purpose of the paper is twofold. Firstly we give a generic OWL model which stores semantics of pervasive environments for any type of Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and extend it with specific requirements of an individual resident of SeCH. Secondly, we give a set of design steps, which model the semantics of SeCH in OWL and specify which OWL concepts have to be created. The ultimate goal is to secure decision making through reasoning upon OWL concepts for the purpose of delivering care services in SeCH.
