Abstract
In this paper, engine braking control by Continuous Variable gear ratio Transmission (CVT) and its design method are proposed. This control enables to follow target vehicle deceleration in stable and good response. First, kinetic equations of vehicle deceleration are shown. Second, control design concept is derived from these equations. Next, the concept is embodied as H-infinity control problem, and controller is obtained from it. Finally, the controller is applied for Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and verified with experiment.
