Abstract
Probability density functions of measured fade slope for a tropical location are analyzed and found to very close to Van De Kamp distribution model. Cumulative distributions of the measured fade slope closely follows ITU-R model. The fade-slope technique is adopted to predict time series of rain attenuation of Ku band signal during rain events for the tropical location. A good matching is obtained between measured and predicted attenuations.
