  • Abstract
A mathematical model of the drawing process of glass capillary tubes is developed, which is based on the real, acceptable and critically analysed assumptions. To simplify the modelling procedure, three basic zones of the process are discussed separately. The obtained results enable a certain insight in the dynamics of the drawing process, but for the complete understanding of the process taking part in the draw-down zone it is necessari´ to solve a very complex system of the nonlinear partial differential equations. The presence of the pure time delay, which characterizes the dynamics of all three zones of the drawing process, is also evident.
