Abstract
An example of a complete automatic control training session with real laboratory experiments is reported. The main goal was that of linking, as closely as possible, the theoretical concepts to the numerical tools provided by the Matlab computing environment. The use of a real-time extension of the Matlab capabilities, named MatDSP, developed at the Politecnico di Torino, is also illustrated.
