Abstract :
First the monopole patch antenna is designed for UWB range application. The circular patch is fed with microstrip line. Two notches at frequencies 3.5 GHz and 5.3 GHz are created using Split Ring Resonators (SRRs) in ultra wide pass band. Various parameters like physical structure, VSWR for given frequency range, return loss, radiation patterns, gain, current distribution etc. are observed for UWB range. The effects of variation on slots are investigated. Simulation and measurement results show that the antenna impedance bandwidth covers the frequency range of 3.1–10.6GHz, which meet the requirements of UWB applications well.
