Abstract
Reliable data transfer is the key point for any communication system. Acoustic channels also are meant for data transfer. Here the main challenges are suffered by long propogation delay and high error rate. One way to overcome this is the introduction of concept “Retransmission”. But this technique has the greatest disadvantage of high delay factor. The main problem with mobile underwater sensor networks is the routing problem. In this project we are trying to avoid this problem using a different protocol called Vector Based Void avoidance Protocol. To the best of the knowledge this protocol can effectively manage the void avoidance without even knowing about the network and presence of voids.
