  • Abstract
To create a safe electrical workplace you face different challenges. This paper will discuss three challenges that we, at the ArcelorMittal pellet plant in Port-Cartier, are working on to achieve and maintain a safe electrical workplace. The first challenge we faced was human behavior. This challenge is about changing a general culture by increasing the awareness of electrical hazards. The second challenge is about maintaining the electrical integrity of our equipment by following manufacturers´ and insurance companies´ guidelines as well as industry standards (NFPA and CSA). And last but not least, incorporating in our different processes, the notion of electrical safety by design.
