  • Abstract
    Very intensive research on computer aided flow control has been conducted. Usually the know-how on flow control is kept in operating manuals. This new developed computer model on a reservoir cascade of several hydropower plants on the Austrian Danube showed that only a small part of water can be retained. Analysing several optimization concepts and a combined control the computer simulation clearly showed an actual buffer limit.
