Abstract :
A prominent practice under software development entails software/component reuse. In order to accomplish this development task procreating a quality product within assigned deadline, component reuse by retrieving it from a reuse repository has become a developer´s prerogative. This paper connotes the significance of reuse repository for software under development. In this paper we have discussed various search techniques for efficient retrieval of components from reuse repository. The paper highlights the concept of keyword-based search technique in a lucid manner by exemplifying the working procedure of the technique via its automated implementation. The implementation has been accomplished via a newly developed tool named ARE (Automated Repository Exploration) ver. 1.0.0. This technique helps in retrieving components relevant to the keyword submitted by user as a query. Consequently, ranked result is presented to users in the order of relevance of the searched components.
