Abstract
This paper describes the development of GXbuntu 1.0 BeMi which is a combination of two different versions of Ubuntu i.e GNOME and LXDE, and thus named as Beneficial mini Ubuntu. Ubuntu is an operating system with Linux kernel based on Debian and distributed as free and open source software. Ubuntu uses the Unity Desktop as its default desktop environment. GXbuntu 1.0 BeMi is proposed to be an open-source, dual desktop Interface, multitasking operating system that will empower its user with choice of interactive GNOME 3.0 or Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment (LXDE) interface in order to select between two different Desktop Environment. This custom distribution named as GXbuntu is available at http://bit.ly/16JJBpT.
