Abstract :
This paper presents a bandpass filter using half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) and modified U-shaped defected ground structure (DGS) slot-pairs. As both loaded into HMSIW, the modified DGS, compared with the original one, can contribute to improving the upper-side selectivity and expanding the stopband. Measured results are in good agreement with the simulations. In comparison with several reported filters with similar techniques, proposed filter is with wider stopband and more compact size.
