Abstract
The coupling characteristics of a novel design of high tunable multicore index guiding nematic liquid crystal photonic crystal fiber (NLC-PCF) coupler are introduced and analyzed. The influence of the structure geometrical parameters and temperature on the coupler performance is investigated. The numerical results reveal that the suggested coupler can be used as a transverse electric (TE) power splitter of length 5.637 mm with low crosstalk better than - 20 dB with great bandwidth of 25 nm around the operating wavelength of 1.55 μm.
