Abstract
A new reflectarray cell characterized by a low phase distortion and quasi-linear phase response for any phase state is suggested. To achieve such characteristics, the cell combines two modes of resonance, a patch and a slot mode. It is also a member of the family of Phoenix cells providing a smooth geometrical evolution of the phase-shifting elements over the radiation panel and, as a consequence, an enhanced radiation pattern.
